I have only bought used Hondas or Toyotas in the past, but am needing a reliable used car in the $4-5K range and this car looks good. It has had one owner. How many miles do these vehicles usually go till? Any major problems?

You couldnt pay me to buy a 100k mile Chrysler.

Headgaskets and transmissions, O2 censors.

Buy them in bulk if you do buy that car. Even with one owner- the design of the car if terrible. Who owned isnt the cars fault, its who designed that make this car a bad choice.

The transmission will be lying on your driveway within a month or so. If the headliner and or trim pieces are not loose, they will be soon. Not to mention the squeaks and rattles and mystery sounds. Chryslers are unfortunately not built all that well for the long haul. It will be tempting as they look nice, drive nice, and seem like a lot of car for the money, but will fall apart before you are done paying for it. Look for a 96/97/98 Accord/Altima/Camry. Especially the Accord if it has had the 90k tuneup and belts. If you have had Toyotas and Hondas before, you probably have never had a serious repair, and are not on a first name basis with the dealer.

First , it must be recognized that a Chrysler Concorde is an American vehicle, although it has partial foreign ownership. I know I'm going to stir up a hornet's nest but these vehicles on the whole last from 90-135000 miles. Give or take. If you are used to Toyotas and Hondas you'll be shocked by Chrysler's service.

my wager...is that your automobile has both.7L V6 engine. chrysler used this engine on your concorde, the sebring, the LHS, 300M, and the steer sparkling of intrepid and steer sparkling of stratus, chrysler sebring after all chryslers automobiles made between 1998 and 2002 have a nicely common sludge develop issue with this engine (poorly designed), even automobiles that were nicely maintainted with finished man made oils developed this issue chrysler blamed the vendors for not protecting the automobiles, even as maximum in truth did. the sludge develop turns into so undesirable that the purely thanks to fiz the priority replaced into to tear the engine down and sparkling it, or purely replace it with a clean crummy 2.7 V6. chrysler looks to have fastened the issue now starting up from 2002 on (base chrysler 300s have 2.7s and are very strong.) yet that is my wager, have a glance on the engine and examine for this notorious sludge that is purely my idea because this issue is so difficulty-loose. no matter if that is the case, you may conctact chrysler about itand see what they could do for you if something you may also purchase a clean motor and characteristic the former one replaced or you may purchase a clean chrysler three hundred or something like that. (I have a smooth spot for chyrsler automobiles yet those 2.7 automobiles suck) or in case you want concordes that a lot purchase a extra recent one (2003 or 2004 to avert motor topics)

Search Yahoo...."1998 Concord LXI"

You'll probably find some interesting information. Chrysler Corp has been having problems with their 2.7L V6. Seems if the oil isn't changed righ on time the engine sludges up real fast and this usually leads to engine failure.
