I don't believe in god, but I just smoked some pot :)

Well, I am going to try and answer this question as best I can. Jesus gives us choices in life. He does not want to be a controlling God who has all of his creations walking around like robots. He loves us and gave man a choice, just like he gives us the choice to accept his FREE gift of eternal life ans love. God will also never let Satan give us a temptation that we cannot handle. Man could say no to pot, but many do not. So it is definitely man's fault . We made something great and wonderful that can be used for many good things into something that is now frowned upon. That is a typical human for you!

God put uranium in the planet then we came along and turned it into a machine that can vapourize an entire city of people. My point is the logic in your argument is faulty, but I don't think it dismisses the suggestion.

I think God put all sorts of things on this planet for us to use. Where the evil comes is in where we abuse. For example, North American natives smoked tobbacco for thousands of years before whitey came along and when the finally met, it was the natives, not whitey, who could expect a longer and healtier life. Problem is whitey decided he liked tobbacco too and he took it home. Problem was it wasn't as much fun when you had to pay to transport it across the Atlantic. To that end whitey started putting all sorts of crap into the tobbacco to make it more addictive and make people buy. That's where all the cancer comes from. It sure as hell isn't from the plant itself.

It's for that reason I'm not for legalization of pot. Sure I think it's stupid to be chasing after people for tokin', but if you legalize, then the same guys that turned tobbacco into the cancer sticks we know today will do the same thing to the pot. My answer. Let the uptight fire and brimstone conservatives call pot evil. They're going to their own excesses in doing that and will pay for it later. In the meantime, keep tokin'. Just make sure it's in moderation.

God delights in use, but hates the abuse

If god didn't want us to sin, would he have put the snake/tree of knowledge on the planet?

Clearly god doesn't think very far ahead, despite being omniscient. :P

He didn't want us to eat arsenic, but he put it on the planet. He gave us a brain and wants us to make good decisions. Obviously, your parents made a poor decision and had you.
