No. Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

And your teacher told you Reiki is a cult?
Why don't you research what a cult is first, and then you'll see that Reiki, which is a non-religious form of metaphysical hands-on healing, is not in ANY way ANYTHING like a cult.

No! you better start studying, it's not even a religion or anything like that, it's an alternative healing teniqe found in the Hindu religion (which isn't a cult, either).It's a way of energy transformation-feels neat!

reiki is a beautiful art ... a practise of using universal energy as a focus for healing
i dont see how it could be termed a cult in any way

No. Reiki is an alternative form of healing from mainstrem medicine and is not dependent on one's personal beliefs, or the lack of them.

No. It's a process of using one's natural energy to sooth or heal. It's almost like a massage. It's not even a religion, but a medical practice.

It is not supposed to be use for any evil intention.
