I have recently installed a game (Silent Hill 4) that says it will not run on my computer because my current graphics card is not 'up to date' enough. However, I read somewhere online that there is a free program that you can download to 'trick' your PC into thinking that you have a different video card installed. Does anybody know where I can find such software?

Not exactly. What video card do you have? What is the exact error Silent Hill gives? Even if you do get it installed, it may run horribly or not at all.

However, you may just need to update your video drivers. If you have an Nvidia based card, go to http://www.nvidia.com

For ATI, go to:

If you are an unlucky soul with a Voodoo based card, you can get updated 3rd party drivers that may solve your problem...go here for those:

Your problem is probably that your current video driver does not support a newer version of DirectX that Silent Hill requires and updating the driver just might correct that issue.
