This is a serious question. From the things I have read on here you all have seemed very insistent that we leave all our beliefs to join you. If there is a hell (which I do not believe in), what does it matter to you if we go there. Christians seem determined to wipe out all other beliefs and take over. Then, when they are attacked, they complain about not having religous freedom. This is not a hate question. I am only stating what I have seen. We are not afraid of you. Why are you afraid of us?

I can't answer your question fully, but as a Christian I can try to answer some of it. I can only answer for myself as well. It's very hard to answer for the majority when everyone has their own take on Christianity and how to act. I only tell people because I want to see them in heaven and I believe the way is through Jesus Christ. I don't demand my own way and I respect other's views. I have a very, very good friend who is an athiest and I respect him and he respects me. I still talk to him about God and we banter back and forth, but respect each other. For the majority, I truly believe Christians just want to help others and bring as many people to Christ as possible for the sake of saving them, NOT for their own personal benefits. You'll get many answers. This is an age-old question. I'm not afraid, I just care a lot. Good luck to finding your answers.

First of all you don't have to believe in hell to go there Revelation 21:8. It is a christians responsibility to lead others to the Lord to glorify God, not to make the christian feel better. I know that you have probably recieved alot of answers from christians that make you wonder, for a non believer I would suggest that you do a web search on bible prophecy and note the date that something was propheised and the date it was fulfilled, it makes for a interesting study as does history and the bible. The odds of even 20 of the prophecies being fulfilled 100% is way out there let alone the hundreds that have been fulfilled, and history will prove some of the older prophecies...it is just a matter of whether or not you are willing to take the time to check some of this stuff out for yourself and don't let others make your decisions for you until you do check them out.

First off, if I could convert someone, it would be out of love, not wanting you or anyone to suffer eternal torment. Whether you believe in it or not, doesn't make a difference. Simply not believing in something does not make it non-existent. Jesus spoke often of Hell and eternal torment, since I have no reason to question His honesty or knowledge of the hereafter, I would take His words seriously.
That being said, neither I nor any Christian can convert anyone. It is not our job. All we can do is present the true Gospel of the Bible to all we can. If the person responds, we provide more "food", if not, then that person is God's problem, not mine. Whether you or anyone responds positively or negatively to the Gospel does not change my status or position with God, nor affect my salvation. The called, the elect, will be saved, those who are not, won't. Simple as that.

I am a Christian and I do NOT believe in forcably converting a "non-Christian"...
I only share my faith when asked about it...I believe the way that St. Francis taught:
"Preach always - but use words ONLY if necessary".
It's by the way we live our life we share our Light. Jesus did not go around hitting people over the head with Bibles..he shared his love and compassion and understanding with all. In the end it was their choice to follow Him or not.

I know Christians like to keep us all lumped together - but there are a lot of Christians that I wouldn't want to be lumped ...with...lol Like a few I know that insist on sending our Jewish friends Christmas cards...instead of Hannaukah cards...that's just straight up disrespect...lots of things like that going on. But please, understand that the ones that are the bad examples are natch the ones that are going to be heard and noticed...The same is true across most all faiths.

I want my own beliefs and faith respected - and I respect others as well. I don't like being attacked for my PERSONAL beliefs, nor do I attack others. I don't lump all of one religion together by the bad actions of a certain section of their population - and I am hurt when it is done to mine as well. I do understand where you are coming from - but your words are almost as close minded as those that you are speaking of.

Tolerance, love, understanding, compassion and RESPECT. Let's all just try to meet there.

I am certainly not afraid, just sad for you.
Christ shared His love and the message of God with those who would listen, if they were insistent that they were not conforming and did not want to accept God's eternal love, he moved on. As Christians we are told not to "cast our pearls amongst swine", in other words, share what you can and move on just like Christ did.
Sometimes, before I became a Christian, I would feel like others who were trying to "convert" me were very abrassive and instrusive and it got to the point where anything to do with Christianity turned me completely off.
The funny thing is, some of the things Christians said to me, years ago, are remembered now and also hitting home.
I wish I could go back and thank all of those people, who at the time, I was really frustrated with, for taking the time to share the love of Christ with me.
Their is no greater hope than the one we have in Jesus Christ, honestly.
I would suggest you visit http://www.biblegateway.com and read through maybe Proverbs first...it is actually just common sense and knowledge stuff and some of it is hilarious!
My favorite is Matthew 5
I am not going to quote scripture for you, just invite you to read it yourself.
Blessing and best wishes in your journey

Christians are commanded to spread the gospel.
Rom10:14-18 But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news" But not everyone welcomes the Good News, For Isaiah the prophet said, "Lord, who has believed our message? Yet faith comes from listening to this message of good news - the good news about Christ."

I hear each and every of the time that if i do no longer choose my little ones to be uncovered to what I planned to indecent fabric on radio and tv, then that's as much as me to police what my little ones see and hear, in different words the broadcasters should not be censored as they have the liberty of speech. i do no longer accept as true with that yet this is the international I stay in. i'd say the comparable difficulty approximately this, if one needs to evade a toddler from being uncovered to Christianity or any non secular theory then that they had greater proper shop an actual eye on the toddler. 2d time immediately I used this quote: "a youthful guy who needs to proceed to be a valid Atheist can not be too careful of his examining. There are traps everywhere -- 'Bibles laid open, hundreds of thousands of surprises,' as Herbert says, 'high quality nets and stratagems.' God is, if i will say it, very unscrupulous." --C.S. Lewis

The only reason why I would want to spread the word is Because God has done so many wonderful things in my life. I am not a selfish person, I would like to share the peace and joy that I have with everyone. Now, I'm not saying that one can't have peace and joy in any belief, but this is what helped me. If someone is happy with their belief, that's great and fine, and no sweat off my back.
Another reason is because God wants us to help others to beable to have a relationship with him. So it is our 'job' to spread the 'good news'

I am not afraid of you. And we don't want to take over either...we want to share the Truth with everyone so they too can know a meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ. Jesus loves you and wants you to accept Him. He told us in Matthew "Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world” Mt. 28:18-20

Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, "All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I AM with you always, unto the end of the ages (Eons).

Jesus Christ told us to. The Word of God is everlasting. Faith Hope & Love is everlasting. Jesus said He Is the Way, Truth & Life. No one comes to the Father except through Him. So, Christians have been saved from their sin and want others who don't know Jesus to meet Him & be restored in relationship to God also.

Christians get attacked because they know Jesus & His Saving Power. Jesus is the light and reveals the sins hidden. People hate the light so also persecute those who walk in the light.

God so loved the World that He sent Jesus to us. It is God's will that none should perish and all will come to repentence and receive everlasting life. God doesn't want you to go to hell, so those saved don't want you to go to hell.

Christians aren't motivated by fear of you. I'm not afraid of you. We have religious freedom in America. But some don't want us to. So we voice that we do have religious freedom also. So do you. You can choose Jesus Christ or reject Him.
