first of all you would potty train a "Pit Bull" the same way you potty train any other dog. Just b/c they have a bad rep doesnt make them impossible to "make nice" or "potty train" what i have done is crate train that is the best and easiest way to potty train period. and as far as making them nice, just treat the dog as you would want to be treated. dont put him/her on a chain in the back yard and dont disipline him/her by hitting. you have to respect to be respected. Pit Bull require alot of attention and they need it so give him/her all you have. Good Luck

The concern with what you're asking is that your puppy is a mixture of 2 breeds that more often than not don't seem to be well safeguard puppies. What you are inquiring for is an eye puppy, and sure, there's a change. :P Does your puppy presently bark on the door in any respect, ever? If so, compliment him whilst he does. Training a puppy to announce the presence of a person is feasible and flawlessly fair. Train the puppy to bark on the door. When he is doing it continuously, begin quieting him after one or 2 barks and praising him whilst he quiets backpedal. He'll study that one or 2 barks is appropriate, any further isn't. I don't feel you will have to try to make your puppy imply. A safeguard puppy isn't a median puppy. A safeguard puppy is a optimistic, mentally sound, nontoxic puppy that's reliable to be round besides whilst the landlord of the residence is in hazard or if a person is within the residence uninvited, or even then, the puppy ought no longer chunk. You used trick or treating as an instance. Those youngsters are for your estate along with your permission. By starting the door and passing out sweet you're giving your implied consent for ANYBODY in a fancy dress to be for your estate. If you knowledgeable your puppy to be imply, and all of the sudden humans in unusual frightening costumes that he is under no circumstances noticeable earlier than begin displaying up and ringing the doorbell, and he begins jogging to the door barking, finally he might very good develop fearful or intimidated ample to chunk this sort of unusual creatures that continues bombarding his dwelling. You are then in charge, for the reason that they had been there by means of your consent. You do not desire a median puppy. Trust me. You desire a reliable, steady, optimistic puppy. Your puppy is simply that. A healthful, mentally steady puppy's response to teasing is to disregard it and stroll away. Aggression closer to a person taunting the puppy is frequently only a signal of instability and little extra. Let humans feel what they desire of your puppy. Does their opinion of your DOG particularly subject that so much to you? A puppy that greets viewers with vicious snarling and barking isn't a good adjusted safeguard puppy, this is a poorly knowledgeable legal responsibility. It is a lawsuit ready to occur. Don't do it.

Like any animal it all depends on the owner. First off don't allow or teach your dog aggression. My mom has a pit/rot mix and she is the biggest baby. We just introduced her to people and when ever she seemed hesitant we told her it is okay. Never lock your puppy up when they are little when people come over; have the puppy socialize as much as possible. Be aware the breed itself does have a tendency to be aggressive. Mostly because they are not nuetered. Train the dog to go outside is fairly simple. Every time the dog eats or drinks grab the leash and ask him if he wants to go outside; even if he doesn't to you have to anyways. It takes a lot of work and dedication, and they will have accidents. If the pup has one you have to catch them in the act tell them know and take them outside. People have been know to rub there dogs nose in the area they deficated but this teaches aggressivness. Remember just like any small animal and child they are babies and it is going to take patience.

Pitbulls are trainable. if you have raise them from a puppy, you shouldn't have a problem with it, but if you have gotten them from a previous owner, you need to find out how it was treated. They are naturally good dogs but, those who are mistreated or fed gun powder or raw meat become mean. My pit had a litter of puppy's all of them were good natured dogs, one person who bought one did all the things above and after a while he couldn't get near him. So once again find out his/her past and go from there. They are naturally good pets. As far as getting them to go th the bathroom outside......I'm not for sure, mine still sometimes goes in the house an she is 4 years old.

you train a pit the same way you treat any other dog. I crated Punk (yes her name is punk) and I took her outside every hour and made her do her business and wouldn't go back inside till she did. Punk still has a submissive wetting problem because she was abused before we adopted her. She is a sweet, loving, and caring dog because all we did was love on her and train her to love others and other dogs. You need to socialize your pup as much as you can with people and dogs. Good luck with your pup you will LOVE your dog and they will love you!

Get it when it is a puppy. Educate yourself on these dogs. They are NOT mean animals. They love snuggling, protecting their home, playing, attention, and being with their humans. Check out a book from the library, buy a book from the book store or online or check out these great websites on APBT's: HappyPitBull.com, realpitbull.com(ownership what you should know on left side of the page). Just type in american pit bull terrier and check out some info on them.
