I'm 38 , had my tubes tied june 05.
My period was 2 weeks late --LMP was 9/30. I started spotting on Sunday am and by Weds it was gone.
Went to the doctor yesterday , their pg test was negative. He thinks it could have been a miscarriage, and that my tubes are open again. They did a blood test but today My boobs still feel heavy and are aching again. I am still waiting for the results but i know they are going to be negative since the urine tests were too.
Anyone have any advice on where i can look this stuff up ?
I have 3 other children so its not like pregnancy is a mystery to me but this all is new and SO confusing!!
Any advice at all would be appreciated.
NO RUDE COMMENTS PLEASE!

You might have gotten preg through your tubes it happen to my mom. Your doctor needs to do some more testing or something could be wrong with your tubes, get on top of the doctors to solve your pain.

I'm a little confused, if he thinks you had a "miscarriage" there should have been more bleeding than just spotting. And did he do the tubal ligation? Because if he lasered your tubes which means he actually sliced them, and not tied them - which is a practice that has not been done in over 30 years, there is no chance you can be pregnant. I had my tubes lasered when I was 35- it was my birthday present to myself (honest). I experienced missed periods, scant periods- 1 or 2 days a month of spotting, but I always had lots of cramps. Your boobs aching can be due to the changes in your hormone levels- your uterus produces hormones also- and the surgery could have messed them up. I landed up taking hormone pills for a few years to regulate my period--- that may be what you might have to do----so dont worry and I would get another gynecologist if he was the one who did your tubal and made a comment that you could've had a miscarriage- he doesnt sound competent-- Good luck to you, I hope you feel better and relax, anxiety makes everything so much worse.

It sounds to me like they need to check your hormone levels, not just for pregnancy. There could be a lot of other things going on that could result in your symptoms and you need to be thoroughly checked out. I had a tubal at 38 in 2000 after having my son and then started hot flashing less than a year later. I kept telling my gyn something was going on. Finally last year I ended up almost dead after drastic weight loss, severe reflux, really bad mental anxiety, and other symptoms...they finally did a test called the FSH test. If your blood levels for this were at least 24 or 25 then you were considered to be menopausal....I was an 89, raging menopause. Once they got my hormone levels straightened out, which took a whole year I have to say, I'm doing a lot better. If your doctor won't listen to you, find a new one.
Irregular periods, breast tenderness, and all the other symptoms could point to a lot of things. Take care of yourself, girl.

you had your tubes tied and the doctor mentions a possible miscarriage to you. can't they do anything right? did the doctor do at least an ultrasound to see your tubes? my doctor did that once. i bet you did have a miscarriage. and i am sorry for that. what about menopause? you are young, but what is your family history on it? good luck.

Did your doctor even consider menopause? I know you're young, but it happens. And if you are not pregnant and had your tubes tied so long, it could've accelerated the process, which would explain the missing period and the discomfort. Good luck!

You could be starting to experience some mental-pause (spelling on purpose) symptoms. But I will try to look this up for you.

The top link says something about if you gained or lost weight, this can happen... or really stressed out.

Second link.. a bunch there

Just do a google.com search for the answer you are looking for. However, I know that it is possible to get pregnant with tied tubes, my mother did.

Choose faster-paced styles of yoga such as Ashtanga or Vinyasa to burn more calories while also finding a good stretch.

Don't just stay there! Do squats while brushing your teeth, calf raises although standing in line, or lunges while chatting on the phone.
