THere is no cure, there is a lot of research oging on and a lot of progress has been made. Muscular dystrophy also encompasses so many types of dystrophies. Some are more aggresive than others. I have two nephews that were born with it. It isn't something that you "get". You are born with it. One of them has a much more aggresive disease. He has never been in a regular school and wasn't supposed to live past the age of ten. He is currently 16. He doesn't live the life of a normal 16 year old. He has a g-tube for feedings and basically lives in a motorized wheelchair. He can no longer walk. He also wears diapers. It is a horrible disease to watch.

Unfortunately, at this time there is no cure. There are several surgeries that can be performed to keep the disease from progressing any further. But, as of yet, no cure. I wish there was though. My dad has a form of MD that makes the muscles in his wrists and ankles slowly deteriorate. It's really sad, when he's in shorts and you're facing his back how skinny his ankles are. It's also suspected that I have the same disease, but no proof yet.

I do wish there was a cure, though.

Research is going on all of the time. No cure yet. Millions are raised each year to find a cure for this disease by Jerry Lewis, every Labor Day weekend. Hopefully they are getting closer and closer.

sadly, there is no cure. I have a close friend with it, she has had it since she was 2 or 3 and there is no cure, just a lot of surgeries. Hopefully there will be a cure soon though!
