Most Americans are against illegal immigration and amnesty so why do our politicians not do anything?

Republicans and Democrats for the most part are united against amnesty so why is the house and the president moving towards giving amnesty?
Plus, since we have laws against hiring illegals why does no body enforce them?

Because there are so many special interest groups that each have their own agenda to push. There are so many illegial immigrants, from so many different nations- it's mind boggling. No matter what is implemented, it will cost big $$$$. Plus many different agencies would need to come together to identify, and then prosecute people. And it's confused by the fact that infants born here are automatic citizens while their parent's may not be- in other words an all around, gigantic mess, by possibly splitting up family groups. And not all past immigrants are illegial- many waited their turns- for years, and came thru the proper channels. An unlike today, they did not expect hand-outs- they learned the language and went to work, not the social services office!

Amnesty was tried in 1986, and we now see how well that worked. Most polls i've seen show that Americans do not want amnesty. Yes Washington had better wake up. Citys and States across our country are doing what Washington will not do.

Wake the **** up! Politicians represent the big money donors who made their position possible. They do not represent the will of the people. Big business wants more people for a low cost labor pool. So big business is getting that.
