well..thre is no so strong correlation...but some spices work in gut as secretogoges..i mean wch stimulate the secretions of enzymes n substances wch help in digestion..as these hav some alkaloids n natural chemicals or substances wch hav natural enzymatic action...or even by its aroma....but if u ll hav very spicey foods ..it may cause acidity n many other problems too..wch r undesirable for metabolism ultimately....so hav a balanced diet wid balanced spice composition..bye

hot sauce keeps your body in a thermogenic state this is production of heat in the body through oxidation which i think burns fat. so maybe it doesnt speed up your metab but it burns fat? i dont know i think too much spicy food though can be worse for you in the long run though(ulcers and what not)
