Hi there...consider using Frontline, Advantage or Revolution--all which can be purchased from your vet or online through 1-800-Pet Meds: http://www.1800petmeds.com/cat.asp?LV=10 These are more effective at eliminating fleas than the over the counter store products as well as safer.

You also need to treat your home either with a flea fogger or boric acid found at pet stores.

there is no home remedies
flea collars and sprays and shampoos do not work
flea and tick drops are the only thing ive found thats works
try frontline(cost a little more) ,hartz(which is sold at walmart for5bucks)
and advantage(cost a little more)
but it comes with 3 tubes (1 tube does 30 days you apply it to the neck down to the tail and you can even bath the cat it will last 30 days.

cats can have severe reactions to over-the-counter flea remedies including seizures and death. I recommened calling your vet and getting some frontline and a capstar(a tablet that will kill all the fleas on your pet in 30 mins)

Get some flea powder and dust him, wearing gloves and a mask for yourself. Do it outside so that it doesn't get into the inside air. Then, put on a flea collar.

Frontline....usually only treating one works...but only do that if you can not afford all of them. However....you have to treat the carpets....Flea's and their eggs are all in that and fabrics. Be careful with the stuff you can by with out getting it from a vet.....it tears some cats up....their fur will fall out where the meds touched and they can faom at the mouth....I tried that with One of mine and she reacted so badly someone tried to warn me and I didn't listen. Good luck....Skin so Soft by avon helps to but its greasy.

go to the vets office and ask for Frontline for cats. It is awesome. You only have to apply it once a month and it really works great.
