Yes it is hard stopping them, but there is a way. At least for me there was. I switched to fruit, and sugarless candy. Now after 5 years I have managed to walk past a candy counter or stand and am not tempted to buy a candy bar. If I crave sweets now I take 1 cube of sugar and no more and it helps a lot. I don't even miss the stuff anymore..

The best way to stop eating sweets is to simply STOP EATING THEM. Don't keep them around the house; do not buy them on impulse; do not reach into the candy jar at work. Substitute healthier snacks, such as fruit, yogurt, protein smoothies, and (in moderation) low-fat ice cream. But also allow yourself to eat whatever you want at least once every week to reward yourself and so you feel less temptation to deviate from your plan. Good luck!

try eating fruits if it's sugar you crave. Also, dont buy any sweets. or if you have to, buy hard candy that you can suck on, so it lasts a really long time.

If it's chocolate, just eat healthier chocolate. Dark chocolate is better for you can milk, so get dark chocolate sqaures and limit yourself to 1-2 per day. Also, Quaker Quakes (mini rice cakes) in chocolate is actaully really good and only 70 cal per serving. I mean, it's not the same as eating a hershey bar, but it's actually really good.

Good Answer Annette J. That's what I did. I substituted those sweet cravings for fruit ie grapes, strawberries and I would prepare snack baggies in ziplocks with apple slices, orange slices, pineapple chunks and store them in the frig. So when I went for something, they would be there waiting for me. Not only did I reduce the sweets but I increased my fruit intake.
GOOD LUCK!

Try alternatives like fruit or things sweetened with artificial sweeteneer. Are you a chocaholic? If so try sugar free cook and serve choc pudding and make it with skim milk. If you use organic skim it taste better. The instant sugarfree is very nasty.
Good Luck,

if they're not around, you can't eat them.

I know how it is, though. Hard to stay away from.
