Smooth...the crunchy kind gets stuck in my teeth!

Crunchy because it gives you more to chew and has more flavor than smooth. The smooth always seems too sweet and not much of an adventure when eaten. Way too predictable. Also, the crunchy gives you more of a challenge to attempt to spread on soft bread without tearing it.

Very interesting question.....I remember reading a survey study done back in the early 70's that pegged your personality by the certain foods that you eat/don't eat or have textural preferences.......I've forgotten what the study concluded, so to this day, I keep BOTH smooth (for recipes and sauces, like Sate Sauce [Thai peanut dipping sauce] and crunchy for sandwiches or eating with crackers.........) and to me, there is only one brand of peanut butter, Skippy, thank you

crunchy.

smucker's natural peanut butter...chunky

"natural"
because the ingredients are "peanuts and salt"
--unlike "regular" peanut butters that also have "dextrose, sucrose or fructose" in them...as well as "stabilizers"
and also sometimes artificial colors or preservatives
(actually, in the u.s. "peanut butter" isn't allowed to contain artificial colors or preservatives, so some are called "peanut spread" instead)

"smuckers"
because that's the easiest "natural" brand for me to get

"chunky"
because it takes longer to eat than smooth.
--i eat it by the t-spoon (approx. 3 /day) as i'm writing or painting/drawing, and i like to "spread" out my noshing

(props to "JK" above for saying: "...i like biting the crunchy bits...")

i don't mind that i have to stir the oil back into the peanut butter when i first open the jar.
and i don't mind that it's supposed to be refrigerated after opening so it doesn't spoil--i don't bother, and haven't had any problems

i eat peanuts for the protein
and i eat them in a "butter" form, 'cause i like the salt

Smooth definitely! Cuz I don't like whole nuts in anything really, and cuz if you have a bunch of whole peanuts in your sandwhich it takes all your taste to the peanuts and you are focusing on that and you miss the other flavoring

Crunchy...I like the extra texture and the psychological aspect of something to "eat" versus the p'butter which will melt in your mouth if you let it...
