You can't go to jail for a few days to see the inside of a jail...
They tend to reserve that for people who actually do crimes that and if you id go to jail you would be with people who had done some pretty terrible crimes. It's not like they could seperate you from the prison population which would include people suspected of murder, drug pushing, etc.
You can however sign up for ride-arounds. Which is where you can go with a police officer on their car rounds at night or during the day to see what happens. It usually is about a month long wait.

Unlike some of your other replies, I don't think that you're crazy.
I live in London, UK. But I've visited LI., NY.
I've been to a few "fantasy" jails in the US. and other countries.
And have a Yahoo web group on this theme.

I don't think any Sheriffs department would "let you in" for a few days unless there was some sort of volunteer study as,

The best thing for you to do is get a public intox on Friday night. This is just a minor charge. You will be let out when you go to court after the weekend is up. You'll just pay a fine. You could get really drunk, then go to they police station & start acting real stupid. Shouldent be a problem for you as you obvoisly a dumbass anyway!

I don't know what city you live in, but many cities do have programs that allow schools and organizations to go jails and prisons in order to educate and hopfully get that experience across to people to stay out of jail. Call your local police or sheriff.

You could try and ask. I read about an old guy that wanted to go to jail so he "held up" a bank. He just waited calmly until the police arrived and went to jail.

You will not like the idea once bub and friends help themselves to your goodies or You. It is nice to think about how easy life can be inside but unless you are old or very powerful prison is not the place for you. Old people are tolerated most of the time but young people are walking piggie banks for hardened criminals.

The first place you will go is rykers island and you probably will get stabbed to death cuz your daddys rich and white and you have got your head up your azz , if you survive you will go to a state pen. pray its not a max, you will for reception but hope that you dont stay in one (clinton.auburn,elmira,sing sing,attica,etc)prison sucks, been there
