I connected a Hi8 camera to my DVD recorder to make a dvd of the tape. I live in the UK so my TV and Liteon are both PAL but both can be set to NTSC. The camera is NTSC. When I connect it all together I can route the signal from the camera, through the DVD recorder and into the TV and it plays fine, I can see the picture clearly. However, when I try to record a message comes up saying incorrect input format. What could be wrong? thanks

The tv as with most in the past 8-10 years is able to display an NTSC signal, it simply passes through the DVD recorder without any processing. However the recorder will not accept an NTSC signal for writing to a DVD. The Liteon will have a switchable output but not an input.

Have you tried a different input format?
How are you recording a message?
I know this defeats the object, but can you record onto VCR first
then onto DVD.
