You probably downloaded either a trojan, virus, or worm onto your computer. I'd use an online virus checker to see if you have any. After doing an online virus check and rebooting your PC, download and install an antivirus program. These are the best 4 I found when searching the web:
Mc'Afee Virus Scan (basic)
AVG 7.5 (don't download 7.1 because 7.1's support will end this January in favor of the 7.5)
Avast 4.7
and eset nod32.
I recommend eset myself because it can prevent downloads of files on to you computer if they are malicious. Hope this helps. Good Luck

Hey,
I really like Limewire, I'm actually an avid user of it. If I want to download a music file I use Limewire always. you should get limewire too. It's a good peer to peer software if you have to download mp3, movies, videos or documents. Here you can find a good place where to download Limewire: http://bit.ly/VMepl4
Limewire is a safe and reliable program but like all peer to peer program you have to be careful of what you are donwloading from it. You always have to be cautious about what you download.
Don't use torrents/downloads from other sites, they might be backdoored.
Hope it helps.

cause one of the files you downloaded must have had a "worm"...a common virus attached to programs and music files..sorry bud but the only way to get rid of it is to completely uninstall limewire, i recommend getting either avast or mcaffee antivirus- run a complete scan..and then if you feel brave reinstall limewire.

limewire is a bad application touse, there is n option within it that allows you to stop it running in start up. be careful what you download as it uses the KAZAA network, loads of viruses and contains spyware. try using imesh and link to thenetwork you are connectingto.

It is P2P file sharing; this means that when you downloaded the software, the software turned on the permission to share files with that network and opened your computer up to everyone on that network.

Run a virus scan from:
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
PS i'd get off P2P networks and start using bit torrents... less chance of getting virus's, junk, etc.
