If by "this" you mean this reality - this universe with all its immense beauty, the wonderful people I've known, the love I've shared - I'm fine with it.

I think this is the prize, so many things could have knocked out our ancestors over the millennia but they all must have survived long enough to pass their genes on to us and we are here because of them...it's glorious and it's so greedy to expect more than this or be so dissatisfied that anyone would want to make up a fantasy after-life and dismiss this life as something only preparatory, a rehearsal for the real thing...sorry it's not a rehearsal it the one shot we get, don't miss out on it looking for something better over there.

Quoth Richard Dawkins: "How much more do you want?"

This is the prize. There is no doubt in my mind. If there was really a god, why would he bring us here before bringing us to heaven? Certainly that would be a more 'loving' thing to do!

I try to make my life and the lives of those I come in contact with as happy as possible. But, there are so many people who are born into a bad situation that they cannot get out of, that I think there should be something more, just not the Judeo-Christian idea of what lies beyond. Of course it's just wishful thinking, but we really don't know for sure, and it's more fun to hope for something nice, maybe. Not believe, just hope.
