That is the generic form of Xanax. It is very addictive! I take it for sleep because i have Fibromyalgia. I am addictive but don't abuse. If I don't take it I get sick even though I am taking the prescribed amount. It is a benzodiazapen these are some of the most addictive meds around. Actually, the above post is wrong (sorry- peter pan). It doesn't take long to become dependent on these drugs.

Peter Pan- I am glad. You are lucky. Most Benzos are highly addictive. You may not have been on a high dosage :-)
I knew I was addicted after about a month. I use it for sleep my doc tried everything and nothing would make me sleep. I tried all the sleep meds out. I tried to stop taking them after about a month and I was so dizzy (dizzier than normal with Firbo) and I couldn't stand up. I felt so nauseous. After I realized that I was not sleeping and sick, I figured out I needed them. Now, I take what I need and am a functioning person.

alprazolam is treated to diminish anxiety. It acts by depressing the central nervous system, and yes, it can cause addiction if taken for a long time.

hi
Well, I took alprazolam for 6 months, and it didn't cause me any addiction whatsoever.
