Muslims are allowed to marry People of the Book namely Jews and Christians, of course, besides muslims. As for other religions, it is better that the person that they want to marry converts to Islam otherwise that marriage is not considered legal according to Islam.

Originally, a Muslim man is permitted to marry a non-Muslim woman from among Ahlil-kitab or the People of the Book, but not vice versa. This is backed by the Qur’anic verse that reads:
“This day are (all) good things made lawful for you. The food of those who have received the Scripture is lawful for you, and your food is lawful for them. And so are the virtuous women of the believers and the virtuous women of those who received the Scripture before you (lawful for you) when ye give them their marriage portions and live with them in honor, not in fornication, nor taking them as secret concubines. Whoso denieth the faith, his work is vain and he will be among the losers in the Hereafter.” [5 Al-Ma’idah: 05]
The law based on Islamic jurisprudence is “Muslim men are allowed to marry a woman as long as she is a Jew or a Christian. And their children should be raised up as Muslims.”
However, Islamic scholars defined this permissibility in further. The permissibility cannot be generalized. There is a difference between "Permissibility" and "Recommendation". It is highly recommended for Muslim men to marry pious Muslim women.
There might be a lot of problems if a Muslim man marry a non-Muslim woman, a few examples include:
1. Which religious festivals to celebrate
2. What type of food should be eaten
3. How are the children to be brought up
4. Clashes between rules, like, the wife may not want to wear Hijab, or Islamic dress.
It is therefore not at all surprising when we see that the vast majority of such marriages end up in court.
That's why, it is not recommended choice of a true practicing Muslim man to marry a Christian or Jewish woman. However, if the woman converts after marriage and stick with Islamic guidelines, there should be no problem.
But, Muslim Women Are not Allowed to Marry Non-Muslim Men.

Actually that is a good Q and thumb up
Muslims men and women are not allowed to marry pagans or nonbelievers in Islam.
Men in Islam can marry those who hold holly book like Christians or Jew but preferably to marry a Muslim woman as documented in Holly Quran.

Lots of individuals prefer to marry within their own kind. For example Jewish people, different racial groups etc. It is not trying to be negative. It just is easier for marriages to succeed if you have a common base such as religion or culture. Trying to make a match when the background is different will have problems from the start.

Its actually the complete opposite. Pick up the Quran and read it your self. God states that Muslims can marry among muslims and also people of the book. These people of the book reffred in the Quran are christians and jews. Since God sent many books in many different ages, it was said that people over time corrupted their religous books and made their religons simpler by saying that since god has sacrificed his son, all their sins are paid for, and now they are scott free to do anything.
Hence the need for the final testament to be revealed, the security of which GOD this time has entrusted upon himself.

Yes it says that. It applies more to the Muslim girls than the men. A Muslim man may marry a Christian woman but I think that is haraam (Forbidden).

Christians are not allowed to marry non-Christians, either. It's the whole "unequally yoked" clause.
Many (of both faiths) regard the clause as advice more than a commandment.
