I would say that you need to do the hair flip, laugh at his jokes, get a makeover and do the "snap and pop." If you don't know what I'm referring to, watch the movie: Legally Blonde 2. Not only is it funny, but that stuff really works on guys. We don't get the subtle hints, but these catch our eye.

Depends on how old the both of you are. If of age, do a little strip tease for him. If under age, just pass him a note asking if he wants "to go" with you and to check yes or no.

Get one of those cards from hallmark to tell him for you. Make sure it's a cute card one that sings a song or something. He'll know he's worth more than a few bucks to ya.
