Ive seen alot of posts lately, by non-believers, who keep bringing up how the world is in terrible shape, and if there is a God, he did a really crappy job of the whole thing. Do you, as a Christian, or any belief for that matter, feel like you have a better outlook on society than that? Are you more hopeful? Or do you think he goofed somehwere to?

Naturally anyone can answer, but ignorant posts will be ignored.

Yes, as a whole, I do think that, as a Christian, I have a better outlook on society.
God thinks we are all worth His attention, He seems to think there is good in us that makes us worthy of salvation.
As long as He sees the good in humanity, can I do any less?

I'm not a Christian, but I'd like to respond anyway. I think that atheists have a better outlook on society. Every day I see postings about the Rapture, the end of the world and how people are looking forward to being in heaven because it's so bad on Earth.

Atheists, on the other hand, know that this is the only life that we'll be given, so we need to be optimistic and make it the best world that it can be.

Additionally, atheists don't constantly talk about how we are all sinners. To me, that's a very negative view of humanity. We atheists tend to accept responsibility for our mistakes and to avoid making the same mistakes again.

Edit - I just read some of the Christian's answers. They confirm my stance. Many are saying that this world is totally messed up, but they are not concerned because they know the afterlife or the coming of Jesus will make things all better. Pretty sad, if you ask me.

Well, the nonbelievers' assertion that the trials in the world are some sort of goof-up on God's part would be like telling a weight lifter he "goofed up" in his exercises because he put alot of weight on the bar and made it hard to lift.

See my point? The whole purpose of this life is to let us make our own decisions and deal with adversity and trial in order to grow. So what the non-believers see as "proof" that God doesn't exist, believers see as proof that he does.

It's all about outlook. Those with their perspectives firmly rooted on the short-term, materialistic plane will never comprehend that there may be something greater than themselves out there. So yes, I'd say that on the whole, Christians DO have a better outlook on society because they grasp the overarching purpose of it all.

If you will look back through history, you will notice that many of the problems that society has brought upon itself has been in the name of religion. Wars, the Crusades, Witch hunts, refusal to accept scientific facts and current things such as gay bashing, opposition to embryonic stem cell research, and... wars. Things that, as we grow intellectually, we realize that the religions were holding us back. I do believe in God, but I have serious doubts that an all-powerful and all-loving being would instill hatred in those he/she is trying to save, especially hatred of people just because they think differently. All that to say this, God didn't goof, we did. If everyone would be more accepting of others and their opinions, we would all have a better outlook on society...

It is perfect just the way that it is. God never goofs.

The world looks the way that it does because of what we believe about it.

This works the way it does because God gives us what ever we want.

If we want something different we need to change our mind about the world we see around us.

When we do God gives us that new world instead.

Each of us gives the world all the meaning that it has for us.

I don't see the world as scary or evil. I see a peaceful and loving world.

One of us must be living in a delusion.

I'd much rather have mine than theirs.

Love and blessings Diamond

It's a matter of attitude and an easy out for some people. But I, for one, choose to take the more positive outlook on society as a whole.

Certain people need to put the BLAME on *Someone* for ALL the misfortunes that they encounter in their own private lives and they merely refuse to think otherwise. Like being more reflective, for one, and admitting to be PART of the the blame itself. However, so-called MISFORTUNES can also subjective. Some people may consider not owning a Porsche a great misfortune! Oh wow...

Others, on the other hand, including certain uneducated miscreants, bigots and hatemongers, go along with them and, in a feeble attempt, they try to resolve global problems in one sweeping statement --thinking and believing that they have the solution to the problem, which is going AGAINST the popular belief system-- but more importantly, to STIR the ANGER of the other side into frontal confrontation and dynamic CONFLICT!

Bystanders who do take their bait either get all riled up and wage war, or some of them also get persuaded into accepting defeat. But all this bickering back and forth is nothing but child's play that has nothing to be gained. Oh well...

Enough said. Let's move on, shall we?

Oh my opinion? It comes from one of the daily prayers taught by Yeshua that starts something like this:

"O Great Creator, Thou hast made the earth by Thy Power, established the world by Thy Wisdom, and stretched out the heavens by Thy Love..."

Peace be with you.

If you are talking about true christians who believe in what Christ taught; love; tolerance; forgiveness; not judging others lest you be judged and above all letting other people be who and what they are, then yes, except of course that all of those things are shared with Buddha and Mohammed and most of the major prophets and their teachings. Whoever your particular God is She, He or It did not make a mess, we did and especially when we start to interpret to suit our own narrow purposes, hence Wars, the Inquisition etc. Get away from organised religion and back to the words of the Teachers and we would have peace and true communication overnight. Shall we try it? Anyone want to help found a Non-religion made up of people who talk to each other and tolerate difference? Go on, amaze me and have a go!

Satan's power in this world is not real. God is really in control. God did not make a mistake. After He destroyed all the evil people in the Flood, He promised He would never do it again. He is letting us decide now whether we want to serve and love Him, or reject Him out of pride like satan.

The world is in terrible shape, in some ways (e.g. abortion), but there is also a LOT of good. I prefer to look on the good side, but sometimes I can't help but see the evil in the world and feel as if it is hopeless. But we are a people of faith, hope, and LOVE; we must persevere to the end and run the good race, as St. Paul says, for in the end, the Lord will be victorious.

God Bless you.

Yeah, definetly. A part in the Bible says that the world may be crappy, but God doesn't control us, or for that matter the world. People have made the world in a bad state by screwing up. Society is looking at wars and troubles through a pessimistic view while Christians look it as a sign of Jesus's return.

What do you want me to do close my eyes and go into denial. There is still suffering, hatred, racism and inhumanity. I blame it on people. I am a Christian. I believe in the next life without a human body.

Kathryn B you also confirmed my stance about being in denial. You would say the world is in great shape there is no suffering,no starvation and no hate.
