To resent a God you don't believe in. Why would someone waste the time?

It's more foolish to resent a God you don't believe in. Christians may not see God, but when they see His hand in their own lives and others', and have felt His wonderful presence and experienced His forgiveness, not seeing Him becomes irrelevant.

It is more foolish to assume atheists "resent" god... if anything we "resent" the hatred perpetuated by religious nuts.

Same thing with "resenting" deities, the idea is just absurd.

The latter is impossible, though you can resent the followers who feel it's their god-given right to harrass you if you don't believe.
As far as having a belief in god, I personally only comment on my own beliefs, in that regard. I hold none.
I find that showing a lack of respect to another's religious or non religious beliefs to be inviting their lack of respect for mine.
Now if you believe in flying saucers, then your fair game. ;)
