Should I call the cops?

My computer recently broke down and I've been forced to share one with my dad. I have a new Ipod and I downloaded Limewire to get my songs, this was a few weeks ago. Today I went to download some new songs and on my limewire i noticed that my library was missing. I messed around with limewire for a little while before I found the sho hide on the toolbar thingy. I downloaded my song and decided to download the video as well. When it was done I went to Videos and found all of this child porn on the videos and it certainly didn't come form me. I think my dad downloaded it and I'm afraid to tell anyone in my family. I mean isn't i none of my buisness? But i think I heard even having it in your posession you can get into big trouble. I hid the library again and I havent been on the comp until today beacuse its eating me up inside. My dad for the record hasn't ever tried anything with me. Does having this stuff make him a pedophile? I'm just sooo confused I dont want my dad to go to jail

Tell another family member you trust.
You don't want your dad to go to jail, but there is a mother out there who doesn't want her child molested.

Having child porn is a crime. This is way too much for you to deal with alone. Please tell a trusted relative or counselor at once. Your father certainly needs help at the very least because what he's doing is not normal and it is illegal. The children on the videos are being exploited and abused. They must be protected and unless you tell the authorities, who will stop this criminal act? I wish you luck and the strength to do what is right for these children.

If I were faced with this I'm afraid that I would have to choose between the chance of Dad going to jail or a child being hurt I would have to tell someone !

Wow! I agree with telling another family member that is close to you. I also think you should mention not wanting him to go to jail. I think that family member should talk to him about it, he needs some kind of counseling. He's not a pedophile or anything, obviously that is something he happens to be turned on by, that's why I think he needs counseling because it's not normal. In my personal opinion, I would rather know he was watching that stuff than doing that stuff... but he could be... maybe not to you, but to someone else... close to you. If you don't say anything, who will? Everything has a domino effect.

Toughy honey and I hear your pain and fear. You have got to get an adult family member involved. Mother or someone you trust. I don't know if I would delete it just yet. Tell a guardian, find out how they are going to handle it, then make arrangements to stay with other family for a few days whilst the rest of the family sorts him out. He needs help. Alot of it. And it's entirely too much for you to hold alone.

You should tell someone in your family. If you and your father are close just come right out and ask him about it. Having child porn is wrong and it is a crime.

You need to talk to your Mom about this. Normal men do not have child porn. Your dad sounds like he has a problem....

if you don't do anything you'll be the one going to jail once the police figure out that it's your computer downloading the child porn. your dad needs help and you certainly don't want him to do anything to an innocent child. seek advice from other family members and then go to the police.

you should tell someone you trust and see what they say. then maybe you could ask your dad how it got there and why he has it. i mean he really can only tell you the truth because the proof is on the computer.
