How come if you put chocolate in the oven, it would melt. But if you use chocolate chips in muffins, they don't melt?? This just seems weird??

"There is a normal query that why don’t these chocolate chip cookie melt in the oven and the reply is ......that they do melt but are capable of retaining in their normal texture and form. If you will break a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie you can easily observe that the chips did melt."

They do melt, but they hold their form. Touch one in a muffin fresh from the oven, you'll see.
