Have the kids color a picture and then they paint liquid starch over it. I prefer to use watercolors instead. Have fun!

If you are looking for two separate activities you can pour liquid starch on glue and let the kid play with it. For crayons you can do crayon melts. Take old crayons and have the child sort the colors in an old muffin tin. Put in oven until fully melted. let cool until fully harden. Pop out of the muffin tin and you have homemade crayons.
