You die tomorrow and you don't get into heaven. Your first thought is to question yourself on why you didn't get into heaven. So what about your life could you be punished over? Is there anything you could have done better or not done at all?
Keep in mind this is just hypothetical! I'm not looking for Godly answers, I'm just looking for personal best guess answers. If there is something you have done or do that you might not have thought you would be punished for but hypothetically do?

Wow, so much! It would be a list too long for this post. Where to start. Anger, sex before marriage, getting divorced, cursing God, turning my back on him many years ago, maybe not being the right kind of parent. Im sure is I woke up in hell, I could give plenty of reasons I deserve to be there.

Thank God for his love and mercy, I wont have to. Whew.

If I did not get into heaven it wouldn't be because of something I did but more likely for something I did not do!
Forgive others for example.
Jesus said, that if we don't forgive, then neither can our father in heaven forgive us.
I do believe that I will go to heaven though. Why? Because if something was between me and God, I would know.
That's why God gave us a conscience, so we can know when things are not right.

Since the question is hypothetical, I'll give you a hypothetical answer. Since most of us have done things or not done things that we wish we had or had not done, perhaps something like: "Treat people with the kindness and consideration I would like to have received in all circumstances."

There are many things we could have done better, any one of us. We are all inclined to do evil things without God's power. That's the reason Jesus had to die - because no one can earn their way to heaven.

I tried to relate, but I can't, because I AM a Christian.... it would be an insult to Jesus, unfaithful in my belief in Him. Since I asked Him to be my Savior, I can't play around with questions like this

One drop of His precious blood is enough to cleanse the sins of the whole world, so the only way I would not go to heaven is if I am not His.

His blood can cleanse me of anything.

Repenting for your sins and accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior - that is the only thing that you do or don't do that influences whether or not we get into Heaven.
There is nothing other than that to do. You can't "earn" your way into Heaven with good deeds. Jesus died for our sins - That was the price that was paid for our life eternal.

Personally I think we all do stuff daily to mess up our chances of getting to heaven... I look at my life daily for stuff i've messed up on and i ask for forgivness and work on repenting... i guess i just have the faith i'm gonna make it to heaven...

Ask yourself: Where is Heaven? Heaven is a place inside yourself, the spiritual you. Hell is the way you operate as in the flesh. Does that answer your question?

No, I've asked for forgiveness...so there wouldn't be anything I would be "punished" for...

With that said...I'd rather live and believe in God, die and find out I'm wrong than...living like there is no God, die and find out I'm wrong and it's too late.

I would know that it is because of resentments, and lack of control in many areas. If I died now, I doubt I would go to Paradise. Passions are still a part of me, and by God's grace they will be defeated.
