When I talk I am thinking one thing but I say someting similar. I do not know why this happens. Example:Last night I told my son that it was almost halloween, but I meant to say thanksgiving. I do this often. I am also slightly dyslexic. When I write, my letters get mixed up. Does anyone know why my brain and mouth are not in sync?

I do it all the time and i'm not dyslexic, i put it down to the fact that i'm thinking too far ahead of what i'm saying and get confused or when i get too tired i can't even remember certain words or i say the complete different word like you did, almost like i'm not concentrating.If its really bad and upsetting you, go see someone to put your mind at rest.(no pun)

I doubt you have any serious medical condition. I suspect you are simply trying to do too many things at once - in your mind, or in your actions. So, you lose concentration. Try slowing down. Perform one task at a time, then go on to the next one. See if that helps. I know it can be hard to focus on one thing at at time when you are trying to run a household, but it is easier than correcting all the mistakes you make when you do too many things at once.

I have this problem too, my excuse it that Im diabetic and if my blood sugar goes a bit low I get confuddled (a combination of confuesed and befuddled)...:D
