My kitten was like that too, she had an upper respiratory infection. You need to take your kitten to the vet, it needs antibiotics and eye ointment or else it'll only get worse and if you have other cats they will catch it too!!! Good luck! Mine is fine now!

It could be because of his flu shot...
But I also have a kitten who I adopted about three weeks ago, her name is Stella. She started showing some of the same symptoms and I did take her in immediately. She was coughing a lot, sneezing, watery eyes, etc, but she was eating, sleeping, and using the bathroom just fine.
They put her on Clavamox which is a liquid antibiotic that is squirted in the mouth, but after 10 days, 2 doses per day, nothing had changed.
It turns out that shelters and catteries and anywhere with a lot of animals can have huge breakouts of Bordetella this time of year, and although easily treated with the right antibiotics, it can be life-threatening to kittens if ignored.
They finally put Stella on doxycycline, which is really good against Bordetella, and her symptoms went away almost immediately. The drugs were cheap, like between 10 and 15 dollars for her entire course.
My advice is to keep your furbaby away from any other pets, monitor him, and try to get him on some antibiotics soon.
Good luck, and much love and kisses to your little one. :)

You need to call your kitten's vet, man, and soon. If he had a "flu jab" (and I'm not sure what that is), presumably it was administered by a vet. Kittens are prone to upper respiratory problems and many are easily treated. But some can get worse and not go away on their own. Some are contagious. Be sure to vaccinate the kitten--at least for the first year. There's lots of debate about vaccinations, but do chlamydia, rhino panleukopinia, calicvirus and others your vet recommends. They may give him drops or ointment for conjunctivitis. I'm not a vet (obviously); I just have had many kittens throughout my life and pride myself on their care--health and otherwise.

Like above my kitten had the same thing when I brought her home from the shelter--i took her in right away and she was put on antibiotics and eye ointment for an upper respiratory infection. No big deal she is fine now, the sooner you get him in the better you don't want it to turn into pneumonia. Good Luck-he will be fine!!

You may also consider the possibility that your cat could have allergies to the environment. I agree with everyone else that you should call your vet.
I had kittens that I moved from GA, to KY...and when they got to KY, they sneezed, and had puss eyes for a few weeks, but ti got better as they became more acclimated to the environment. I was also very allergic to KY, and it was the mold spores in the air that bothered all of us.

You probably should worry just enough to call the vet and ask what it might be. The best would be to take an appointment, but maybe you could wait a day to see what happens. Good luck!

More than likely it is NOT due to any vaccines and is a respiratory problem that most cats get when they are young. It is NOT a major disease, more like a cat cold, but DOES need antibiotics to clear it up, otherwise it will get worse.

Call your vet and don't take any chances. You never know with those kittens sometimes. I wouldn't wait till it got bad.
