Good point...it's also imperative, since we're not promised a tomorrow, to determine where we would spend eternity. That must be decided in this lifetime. Once you have your eternal future secure with Jesus, then you can REALLY enjoy life here!

Nonsense.

Thats all just a matter of perspective.

Contrariwise I counter that life is plenty long enough to find contentment via whatever path to "enlightenment" or "resolution" you seek to follow.... and when thats done then its just a matter of waiting for its end. These days people can be waiting for a bloody long time....

Then again there are a lot of idiots who waste their lives away doing nothing.... or worse still, preparing the whole time for an "afterlife" that isn't going to come rather than sorting out whats actually in the here and now. They die in expectation... and its just lucky for them that they are completely obliterated before they can be psychologically devastated by the disappointment of having lived a lie.

We were just talking about that last night. This is my favorite verse in the bible regarding eternity.

2 Cor. 4:18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
