I think that being a dental assistant is not an effeminate job. It is a health care position that men can do without question as to their sexuality. Hair stylists and cosmetologists are more feminine jobs that women should do. But that doesn't mean that men who do those jobs cannot be Christians and have a strong love for God. Just because a field is filled with women and gays doesn't mean that a straight man can't do them and be a Christian. I just don't know why they would want to...

Not a christian, but I do not believe a man entering any of those professions is commiting a sin. I think you're generalizing way too much about "feminine" careers.
Also, interestingly, the NIV changes "effeminate" (as in the KJV) to "homosexual." The two can be mutually exclusive of each other. Which do you feel is correct?

You didn't mention male strippers.
I don't believe 1 Corinthians 6:9 is referring to economic occupation.

Since when are these 'traditionally' female? In other times and countries men would be doing all of these jobs. In the Soviet Union, being a doctor was 'traditionally' a woman's job.

NO!!! Since MEN not GOD decided that these were "female jobs". If men start giving birth to babies THEN that will be against God's intentions.
BTW, remember when MEN could only work outside the home so at one point ALL jobs were MALE jobs, maybe you are offending God by having women work at all!!!

Thinking logically about this, one's job does not make you effiminate...Your behavior while doing it does...I am a male kindegarten teacher and I definitely run a classroom from a more masculine perspective from my female counterparts...If you enjoy watching ballet with your wife, I see no reason for that to draw God's wrath....First Corinthians seems to be pointing to other issues rather than a man's chosen profession

How is that committing a sin against God..I don't understand that? God doesn't care about superficial things that people see he only cares about the spirit of the person not their looks. God wants people to follow their heart, and listen to him not society.

Effeminate or not, Salvation means they will go to heaven.
They are only womens jobs because SOCIETY says they are, not God.

I know men in fields like those, and nurses. None of them are effeminate. Stop generalizing. No god, no heaven, no hell.

A man has to provide for his family. How he does it is irellevant to God as long as it does not violate his divine laws.
