Your chances are HIGH. You need to wait to have sex (or use a condom) at least a month before going solo.

Very high. Didn't your doctor explain how the pill works and that you should wait at least a month before you have unprotected sex? Your body has to have time to adjust to taking the pill and let the hormones get in your system. You should always use a back up method like a condom for the first month of taking the pill.

Apeyhen17,
Please talk to your doctor. I'm sure he explained the proper use of the pill. It sounds like you were not listening. The chances of getting pregnant is pretty good, the chances of getting a STD if even better. Unprotected sex is just not wise with anyone, unless it's your husband, and he's true to you. Be careful and God bless you.

You need to read the instructions for your particular brand of pills.

I always thought you had to wait a full cycle to be protected. But I recently switched to Ortho TriCyclenLo, and the directions say that if you start when they tell you to start, you're protected after the first WEEK!

So read your insert, talk to your doctor, and if you've dodged this bullet, be extra careful in the future.

Pretty darn good. Were you not told that you have to take a full cycle of the pill before you're protected?
