Well let's face it - fat is flavor. Nothin' like a big mouthful of grease! lol Just don't make a habit out of eating that part. I don't think once in a great while is going to kill you. Just have a glass of red wine to accompany so you can counterract the cholesterol. :)

It can be, or not. The rule of nutrition is lots of variety and everything in moderation. Keep in mind that the Western meat and potatoes diet was based on the reality that most people could only afford to eat meat about once a month.
So I say sure, you can eat the fatty part, but no more than once per month (unless you live in the arctic, in which case it's healthy to eat a lot of animal fat to keep your internal furnace going).

my motto, if its done in moderation, it won't kill you. Besides there's 365 days in a year, what can a bit of fatty part of a slab of prime rib do? As long as you exercise, eat healthy and a little bit of indulgence simply to enjoy your meal, go for it.
So enjoy that fat! (just do it in moderation)

Yes. The fatty part of prime rib contains so much saturated fat it's not good for your heart.

Yes and no-If you have no current heart trouble, high cholesterol or diabetes - that little fat jewel is a tasty treat - however if you are medically recommended away from fat this is a big no-no. Hope that clears things up!

Beef fat is about the worst you can eat. It is both laden with calories and artery clogging types of fat. As an occasional treat it probably wouldn't hurt if you really enjoy it.

It will zoom the bad kinds of fat and cholesterol to your liver and bloodstream. If you're healthy, your body will sustain this assault and spring back to normal function. But make no mistake: It's very unkind to your heart, liver and arteries.

A little bit once in awhile is ok. Just don't eat too much--I know it's hard because it's so tasty.

It is very tasty and full of cholesterol but then again how often do you eat it anyway? Just enjoy.

Well - it's pretty much pure fat.
Having said that - in moderation, most things are okay for you. Just don't do it every day.
(I LOVE it, it's the tastiest part!)
