For an associate on massage therapy which is what you get is a 2 yr degree, then after that you have to take a State Board Test, from your state, then after you continue will continuing ed, to specialize in something else, like Myofascial Release Techniques, Cranial Sacral Work, Lomi Lomi, these are a few out there. But is a great field, thats for sure, lots of science though. But theres things out there like "Rain Drop Technique" that you dont need a license to work on a patient, but you CANT massage, or teching parents how to massage children, but again YOU CANT MASSAGE children you can educate parents on how to do it and the benefits of it.
Good luck

Less than a year if you go to a private school
About a year if a local Junior College offers this.
It is a certification - not a degree.
