Give him a taste of his own medicine. I guarantee, he won't like it and he may lighten up a little.

Being stubborn right back will most likely just make you upset, annoyed and tired. Try having good reasons for your "argument" - and tell him he's being unresonable when you feel he is. You can always try the approach where you give him a choice- where you present 2 options both of which you want instead of just letting him get something else in his head. I know that's how you're suppose to treat 2yr olds- but maybe this could work for you too.

I'm going to tell you from experience being in a relationship with extremely stubborn people isn't worth it. relationships are about compromise and working together as a team. If this person has no concept on how to do this
1. They aren't very good at relationships AND
2. You're going to be pulling your hair out (as you said) in dealing with this guy in most every situation.
people who are as stubborn as the man you are describing are usually extremely selfish/self consumed people and it stinks to be in any serious relationship with extremely selfish/self consumed people.
The only way I've found to get through to people like this is to give them a dose of their own medicine until either one of 3 things happens.
1.You get rid of them(which is wise)
2. They leave when they realize you're aren't going to put up with it(thank God)
OR
3. they start changing their ways.
After all we're not here to change people...thats THEIR responsibility NOT ours. best of luck

Tell them to stick it and then go find someone else. You did not specify if it was a relative or what. Life is real short but, if you like dealing with stubborn people have at it and have a good time doin it.

It takes patience when dealing with a stubborn individual. Give them their space and give them the chance to do things on their own timeline.

be just as stubborn as he is and don't back down! you'll eventually learn how to talk to him where he thinks he is getting his way and all along your getting your way with hin demanding that it be so. wished i could tell you how more exactly but everyman is different, you have to learn when to push and let up until you learn how to weasel your way into getting what you want.

He has difficulty adjusting to changes, especially sudden ones. Pushing him to move more quickly will only harden his determination and resistance.
