A friend of mine is taking the hepatitis b shot and I recently witnessed her intoxicated. Very intoxicated. Will this render the shot useless ? Or worse, will it affect her liver more? Very concerned for her. This could kill her if not handled correctly? Thank you for any info.

The consuption of alcohol - even large amounts - does not affect hepatitis B vaccine. In turn - the vaccine poses no threat to the liver. Thus - in the short term - there is no concern. Alcohol - however - remains the 2nd leading cause of preventable illness, disability, and death in the United States. As difficult as such discussions may be - if you are truly concerned - you should speak with your friend about minimizing or ideally eliminating the consumption of alcohol.
