More importantly, what is truth?

Jesus is the way to truth. If the Son sets you free you are free indeed.

Faith is simply belief...I believe I sit at a desk, I see the desk, I can touch the desk, therefore I have faith it exists.

To contradict a few other comments above...blind faith is belief in that one cannot prove through the senses.

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Faith is a verb. Example, when we sit down with our full wieght when we sit in a chair, we don't fully inspect the chair. Or when we enter a food store, we pay for the food in a box before we eat it. It is believing for things that are not yet seen. For Christians, it is Heaven. For Atheists, it is evolution.

Faith is a feeling, you don't see something, or feel something, you just have a feeling its true. There is no realistic proof that there is a Heaven, Hell, God/Jesus, Satan or an after life, but, with faith you believe they do exist. You can feel it in your gut, heart and your mind believe it. There is no logical proof that its there, but, you can sense or have an illogical belief that it is there.

Many are saying faith is believing in something you can not see but I think this is inaccurate. Faith is believing in something for which there is no evidence that would withstand critical scrutiny. I know I am breathing oxygen, that gravity exists and is exerting force on me, and that the cool air I feel that moves my hair around is wind. I can not see any of these things but we have ample overwhelming evidence for these things. We don't have anything like this for the unseen religious forces.

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Abbas:

I was informed by Abu Sufyan that Heraclius said to him, "I asked you whether they (followers of Muhammad) were increasing or decreasing. You replied that they were increasing. And in fact, this is the way of true Faith till it is complete in all respects. I further asked you whether there was anybody, who, after embracing his (the Prophets) religion (Islam) became displeased and discarded it. You replied in the negative, and in fact, this is (a sign of) true faith. When its delight enters the heart and mixes with them completely, nobody can be displeased with it."

Believing in something that you can't see or touch.

Like being in love with someone and them telling you that they love you. You have to take it on faith they are telling the truth. You can't touch or see love (other than by actions.)
