Great question but a hard one! Humans differ from animals by having a large brain, yes, but there are other parts that are alonst unknown. One of them is located under the brain and is the center of memory and emotions*. Sensations are rather treated by the bulb ending the spinal chord.
*I forgot the englisn name.
addition:
Animals kills to feed themselves and survive. This also helps the sustaining of Evolution.... Cows eat herbs, nobody says that cows kill herbs but all plants are part of living kingdom.

We kill because we have incorrect emotional reactions to situations, because we are influence by publicity, news, movies, books, ect. We take bad solutions because we feel unable to react without the use of violence. THIS IS WHAT PARENTS SHOULD TEACH! But they often behave stupidly. Sorry that's a fact and children are emotional hostages of their parents.
We are hostage of marketing. And we all forgot a very ugly word: Responsability!!! we are responsible of protecting our rights!
I would highly suggest to read the american constitution. This is what America brought to the world. Read it!
end of addition.

During the years 1970, neurologist tried experiment to cure some deseases and noticed that the brain was divided in two segments but these were attached by sort of nerves so that the left hemisphere took benefit of the work of the right hemisphere. So it is wrong that the left hemisohere was logical and ''Manlish" and the right "hemisphere treated language matters. In fact, if we see a cat, this is first treated by the vision center that is a complex part located at the back of the left hemisphere. But recognizing a cat needs the action of the right hemisphere. Since these two hemispheres form our brain, as they are linked by sort of nerves, we don't make the difference.

Emotions and memory are treated in a different organ. This organ can be injured, under-performing ect.

What we can explain is that sensations can cause emotional reactions. But neurologists discovered that all the brain was involved in each element whatever it is logical, sensation, emotions, ect.

This can cause confusions! For example, we tend to Consider love as a better "trigger" to have a child then the need to insure reproduction. This is supposed to insure a better life to the child. All animals take care of their new born childs without educating them for a long period of time. Others give a real formation to their childs (mostly carnivors).

Our animal part is not important. We are among animals who live in society which means that individuals need to communicate with others and have a job that improves the status of comminity.

But so many things traumatize childs and teens (as well as adults!) that the emtional answer is not always appropriate).

This was in depht studied by Neurolinguistic Programation or N.L.P. created by Bandler and Grinder.

Very shortly, they say that if you are feeling jealous, whatever the reason is, it is better to switch this emotion to another one that can help you get out of this sad situation.

but first, there are axioms:
1- We cannot not communicate (someone who refuses to speak gives a pretty good answer about what he feels!
2- The one who communicates is responsible of the clearness of the message.
ect.
Books are found in libraries and are not meant to cure psychological problems only but to improve our capability to be understood.

You obviously missed out on the brain, huh?

Anyway, we are all animals, and we ALL have brains, especially animals. To be alive you have to have a brain or something like a brain.

As for the killing, its called nature. Things kill other things, sad as it is. Peace

Animals have brains and they only kill one another for food. We kill each other because of greed, fear, selfishness or stupidity.....Or, because one of our dictators has commissioned his military to murder innocent persons in another country. We weren't "blessed" with a brain and I am entirely SICK of hearing that we're 'blessed' with this, or 'blessed' with that. EVOLUTION. Wake up, there is no blessing a 3lb organ that sits within our skulls. Our brains have more going on in them than the entire Universe....and yes, I mean the entire Universe has less activity going on than one human brain. Animals are actually more civilized than we are, they are kind to one another and kind to the environment. We could learn something from the animals. You need to start reading more and researching more about the realities that surround you and not what some book written by a few men that is promoted daily to take your money and leave you in fear dictates. Wake up, in other words from your brainwashed state and obviously uneducated state and smell the reality wafting about. good luck and be well, jack

Animals do have brains. They are not as highly developed as our brains are.Killing each other has nothing to do with brains or lack of brains.
Infact, because our brains are more developed we have even more reasons to kill.
Jealousy,anger,rage,love,lust,greed.............the list could go on.
Most animals only kill for food.

Hi, it might have nothing to do with the fact that we have brains or not. It all comes down to the fight over resources and the will (instinct) to propagate.
