There has to be a consequence. The Lord has set commandments and guidelines we are to follow in order to achieve the eternal life he has promised. Along those same lines, he cannot go back on his promise of the consequences for inaction or defiance of his laws. That's why we have this life. It is the time to prepare to meet God. Do all that he has asked to the best of our ability. If we slip or make a mistake, we have repentance, In the end, when we are judged, Christ's sacrifice and atonement will make up the difference for those things we may have lacked in. He's set this plan in front of you. It's your choice to follow it or deny it. It's your choice, but there are consequences for those choices.

These people that are going to Hell are not accepting God's forgiveness. It's essential to recognize Jesus as the savior of the world. How can someone who doesn't want forgiveness be forgiven?

First of all, I'm pretty sure im on the same track with you and I am gonna head you off right now. Christian ideology is based on a single man Jesus of Nazareth. They really believe that whatever is in the bible is true. I believe there is not enough logic past the simple choices it gives people like for them to do good. So don't try to use logic with them they pull excuses out of the Bible. They probably will use a passage that has the same words your question then turn it into a way to make you a christian.
Sincerely a concerned humanist,
R.P.

The problem is not in God's forgiveness which is always available as it is in our acceptance of that forgiveness. There's also the question of whether we in turn forgive one another.
We're not robots, God gives us the choice. As far as hell is concerned, I personally feel its very sparsely populated. I think at the moment of death, the soul is given one great last chance, an offer you can't refuse so to speak. Unless, they are so hardened and evil, I feel most would choose God. Just my thoughts.
Good question btw.

It's simple. We are guilty of sin. God has offered us His forgiveness of those sins. If we accept His forgiveness the circle is complete and we are saved. If we chose not to accept His forgiveness then we pay the consequences. You can forgive someone, but you can't make them accept it. God could if He wanted to, but why should He if you choose not to believe.

Because they choose to be apart from God. God does not force His love on anyone, that is why i am constantly amazed at how some so called "christians" force their beliefs on others. We are to share the Message of Christ to all people, but not force it on them.
All have the ability to choose God and ask His forgiveness, but we are a proud people and find it difficult to do.
We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Amen!

We can forgive people. But, for them to be forgiven by God they have to ask him to forgive them and cleanse them of their sins and decide to be good, do the right thing and walk with God and ask God to come in their heart and save them and mean it. They can say anything they want, but, they have to mean it. They can fool anyone about how sincere or not they are, but, they can't fool God.

Those who will be in hell are the ones who didn't ask for forgiveness. Yes God forgives everyone, but in order to receive His forgiveness, one must ask.
Yes it is that simple.

You must ASK for forgiveness - with a penitent heart. Those who never repent (which means to turn away from your sins) never receive the free gift of forgiveness that is being offered to them. Silly choice eh??

What you are missing is that one needs to accept forgiveness. Jesus said on the cross "Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do." If they were to repent to God for killing Jesus, God would have forgiven them. But they chose to deny God and His existence altogether, and never seized the opportunity to be forgiven. Jesus wanted them to accept forgiveness.
So forgiveness has to be accepted. If you dont accept it, then you are denying it. If you deny it, then you accept judgment. That's why people go to hell.
