I asked '' How do I get dog urine out of the carpet ? She peed in the same place several times. The answer I got was this:
She pees in that same place because of the odor. To remove the odor, mix 12 oz. hydrogen peroxide, 1-1/2 teaspons baking soda, 1 teaspoon of liquid dish detergent. Mix well and saturate the stain and let sit until it dries. Make sure you pour enough to saturate down to the padding. Do not scrub! The liquid should start fizzing and bubbling (the combination creates oxygen) and it will lift the odor and stain from all the way down to the padding! If she has been using this same spot a very long time, it might require two applications.
I did as she instructed. It worked for a week or two, but my dog peed in the same spot again. I think the urine soaked thru the carpet to the wood floor. I do believe the remedy worked. But I think she smells it because it went to the wood floor.
.How do I fix this?

Hi
For just a few spots
Nature’s Miracle should work. It is available at Petsmart. Make sure you follow the direction. The main reason that it fails is that people just sprays it on and wipe it up and not let it soak into the carpet and pad like the urine did. You may need to do this 2 or 3 time. Just reminder that the urine treatment product needs to go where the urine went for it to work properly. After you clean the spots, you should shampoo the carpet using this product on the front and back of rug.
For really bad urine smell
First thing you need to know is that urine is classified as carpet damage. 90 % of the urine sits in the under pad and that is the hardest to remove. This is the reason you smell it when you wet it. In most cases if you can smell it it’s pass the point of treating from the surface. To clean it properly it is a fairly big job
Things you will need: carpet-cleaning machine.
Chemical for removing urine I recommend (Nature's Miracle is a liquid containing enzymes that feed on the organisms that give urine its odours.), which you can buy at a pet store. (Some people have use vinegar (one part vinegar to five parts water)
New under pad for the carpet
1/ lift the carpet where you think the urine is. You can tell from the bottom side of the carpet by the watermarks. You will need to extract the backside of the carpet with the urine remove treatment product.
2/ cut out the entire infected under pad and wash the floor with the urine treatment.
3/replace the under pad with the new stuff
4/ as you are laying the carpet back down treat the top of the carpet with the urine treatment.
5/ When the carpet is all back you will need to clean the all of the carpet with the urine treatment product. Just reminder that the urine treatment product needs to go where the urine went for it to work properly.
In my experience, Nature's Miracle is your best bet. Good luck!

I have tried many store bought remedies for removing the smell of dog urine and it seems like most fall short. A long time ago I was watching some show on TV and they gave the solution of using white vinegar and water. I tried it and sure enough it worked. The formula is 1:1. Once I put it on the carpet I allwed it to sit for about 5 minutes. I took a one gallon milk jug and poured it straight on the floor. I suppose you could put it in the steam cleaner and spray it on with that but I wanted to fully saturated that area and rinse it out. I then used a steam cleaner carpet cleaning solution to shampoo the carpet afterwards. I lifted the carpet up and used a fan to dry it. I have a cement floor under the carpet which is not as pourous as wood but it still had held the odor prior to using the vinegar.
There are agents at Petsmart that may be less messy than this to use directly on the wood floor but a lot of them contain alcohol which can ruin the finish on your wood. At Walgreens there is a product called UrineBGone. I have not tried it but I have seen the commercial on it and it looks like a possibility but it is expensive at $20 for a little bottle.
I hope the vinegar works for you and if it does not may be something else out there will. You could also try pouring Febreeze on it or placing dryer sheets under the carpet and padding. Just a thought.
Good luck.

Get Natures Miracle...can be found at pet stores. It will take out the odor and any stain that might be there. It also works on the wood floor. You may need to put a good amount on there to let it soak in down to the wood floor. Pour it on full strenght(dont dilute with water) and let it sit until it dries. You can also take a towel and put it over top with something heavy on top of the towel to help soak up any excess that may be on the carpet. Let it sit like that all day or over night(prefferably until dry)

Most carpets aren't installed with special pet padding to prevent the odor from getting into the padding and floor beneath. The carpet place told us that the reason odors stay is because they get down into the padding, and it's pretty much impossible to get rid of. Sounds like you may have to consider new carpeting. If you do this, look into the special pet protected padding offered. It costs slightly more, but has a plastic layer on top that prevents the urine from getting down into the padding.

First off, you need to stop the behavior of the dog. Put Cayenne pepper powder down on the carpet. The dog will sniff the powder and it will burn his nose (for a short time) and after a time or two, will not go back to the area. Then you can work on removing the smell. If the process you used before got rid of the smell to your nose, then use it again. A dog's nose is much more sensitive than a human nose and it might not be gone for the dog.

Use Odor Remover. It is sold where they rent carpet cleaners at grocery stores and hardware stores. Rug Doctor or any other brand has it. It can be used with the machine or used by itself. I recommend using the machine many times on the same spot. Odor Remover works good.

Unfortunately you will have to remove a piece of the plywood sub floor and replace it with a new piece. The carpet has to go to.
No matter what they sell in pet stores it will not get the smell out of the wood and the dog will continue to pee there.

You might want to try a product called bi-odor or nature's miracle. Both break down the enzymes in unrine to keep the animal from finding the same spot again.

I have tried several things.....what it mostly boils down to is you are going to need to get your dog outside more often to relieve herself. You need to get one of those black-lights from PetSmart, so you can detect the urine in the carpet. I've tried vinegar and water and to me, it intensifies the smell.
I have tried Internet and Infomercial products and my dog did the same thing. If that carpet spot has been re-soiled MULTIPLE times, your dog will ALWAYS find it...my dog goes outside 4 times a day and she can find her spot (amongst I am sure several dogs) every time.
I heard that this product Zero is awesome....I haven't used it since my dog got over her issue. I provided links below. Good Luck!

Put the same solution on the wood floor. Does the dog have an alternative location? He has to go somewhere. If he's a puppy, he needs time to grow out of it.
