I'm kind of noncommittal about these. Remember that is God who does the saving, possibly through a testimony, but its purpose is not to bring glory to you.

Sharing your personal testimony is very important because other who are not saved can see where you came from and perhaps that will help them come to God. Also it is an encouragement to believers.

It is important to share your testimony because there might be another person who is going through the exact same thing that you went through. When they see that you conquered the problem, they will be encouraged to not give up hope.

It is encouraged, commanded in the bible.
You must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if you are asked about your Christian hope, always be ready to explain it. But you must do this in a gentle and respectful way. Keep your conscience clear. Then if people speak evil against you, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ. Remember, it is better to suffer for doing good, if that is what God wants, than to suffer for doing wrong!
