Their reported address is on Broad Street, Kirkwall, Orkney Scotland. We're not talking Scottish Royal Bank here, but Royal Scottish Bank. What do you know?

Do you mean this one

Lloyds TSB Scotland plc
1, Broad St, Kirkwall, Orkney KW15 1HE

That's a real bank, associated with Lloyds, obviously. If it's some other street address than that then I'd be rather careful what I told them or did with them.

The other bank with a name like that is Royal Bank of Scotland which is also known as RBS and they have www.rbs.com and www.rbs.co.uk web sites, their location in Orkney is:-

Royal Bank of Scotland
P.O Box 6, 1victoria St, Kirkwall, Orkney KW15 1DP
Tel: 01856 872718

The Orkney Islands in Scotland are very remote with a tiny population. Unlikely to have a reputable bank originating from there.

There are three Scottish banks that issue their own banknotes.

The Royal Bank of Scotland
The Bank of Scotland
The Clydesdale Bank

I think your query refers to the first of these; the address certainly does.
