I don't stand on a fence. I am proud in the fact that I"m Pro-Life. It's not because of my religion, but because I know someone who had an abortion and saw what how miserable it made her. She is still mourning that child, over 26 years later.

Hi there,
As a committed believer in God through Jesus Christ, I would be happy to share with you my perspective on what is euphemistically termed 'abortion'.
I believe that at the moment of conception, a human life is created. Barring any subsequent miscarriage, if that fertilised egg is left to go it's full term, more often than not a mentally & physically perfect human child is delivered from the mother's womb (even if that child is disabled in some way, that does not render it's life somehow 'invalid').
Therefore, if by means of the 'abortion' process that term of pregnancy and eventual delivery is interrupted, that is tantamount to depriving a child of it's very life. For man to take the life of another human being (regardless of it's unborn state) is, quite simply, to commit murder. The Christian Bible says that murder is wrong in the sight of our creator.
However, I do not condone the actions of so - called 'Christian' groups which promote the violent targetting of those people responsible for carrying out these murders. The Bible teaches that vengeance belongs to God alone. It also teaches that one day, after our death, every human being shall be resurrected and stand before our maker to give account for the wrong things which we have done. Not only does murder fall into this category, but also stealing, sexual sin, blasphemy, lying, cheating and others. As Christians, we believe that we can receive God's free gift of forgiveness for our wrongs and eternal life through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ & His death on the cross to pay for our sins.
The argument often used for the woman's right to chose an 'abortion' is that it's her life, her body and she can do as she pleases. Yet what about the new life that is within her ? What about that child's right to live ? How terrible that an unborn child should be in danger from it's own mother in what ought to be the safest place of nuturing & comfort for a baby in the world. The fact that 'abortion' exists at all in (supposedly) civilised society is a clear indication of how corrupt and selfish we human beings are. If we were to hear on the news of a 3 year old being savagely hacked to pieces with a machete, we would quite rightly be horrified. Yet most of us would remain totally unmoved to hear of the thousands upon thousands of unborn children who are murdered year in, year out.
Contrary to what many might believe, child sacrifice is still practiced today, even in the 'civilised West'. It's now called 'abortion' and the sacrifice is made to arguably the most tyrannical idol of all, the god of self.
Thank you for this opportunity to express my view. May God bless you.

I am anti-abortion but pro-choice. The two are different. That's one of the most insulting things about pro-lifers. You think because we support a woman's right to CHOOSE that we want girls running around getting abortions willy nilly.
I'm Wiccan, and my religious beliefs have nothing to do with my stance on abortion. I believe in a woman's right to choose because women who are victims of rape or incest did not have the right to say "I don't want to have sex with you." Their attacker took that right away from them. And a woman who is told that carrying a baby to term could mean her death has the right to say, "I choose to live and try to have another baby or adopt if I can't, but I choose to live." And a scared 20-something whose condom broke and whose boyfriend is no longer returning her phone calls has the right to say, "I choose to finish college and build a life for myself before taking on the awesome responsibility of parenting, which I am not equipped for."
Go ahead, throw "adoption" on there as an option. As of 2005, there were 513,000 children in the foster care system. By the end of the year, 51,000 - LESS THAN ONE TENTH - had been adopted. Most people looking to adopt only want cute little babies. They aren't interested in older kids or kids with special needs or damaged kids, and the foster care system is quickly becoming overwhelmed. So yes, instead of giving the stupid, STUPID, scared teenager the option to end a pregnancy she wasn't planning, let's just force her to carry to term and throw the baby into an already overwhelmed social service system, so that if he/she isn't adopted before they hit 5 years old they can spend the rest of their lives wondering why no one wants them.
I don't think abortion is right. But I think steamrolling the will of living, breathing women who have been doing well outside of mom's womb FOR YEARS is even less right.

The only people who have a right to answer this question are women. Women with an unborn deciding what to do. Shame on all of you.

I would choose to keep abortion. I would never have one, but I think if another woman wanted to, let her do what she wants. Just bc it's legal doesn't mean you have to do it. Ppl should have that option though.
