That sounds really selfish, but I've seen and heard of all these people who changed their lives after 'finding God'

I wish I wasn't so lazy, but I look around me and nothing in this world motivates me to work for it, I get depressed at times because it feels futile but something tells me I'm not doing wrong.

You're lazy and you think you're not doing anything wrong? The world is not here to motivate you, you are here to worship God. You say you've seen and heard all the people talking of God changing their lives yet you're not listening. That's not selfish, that's apathetic.
If you are looking for God... have you asked? Have you asked this almighty entity of love to save you? If you haven't then I have to ask... "what do you expect God to do?"
You don't find God. God finds you. However you have to put a beacon out for Him because He absolutely refuses to force His Being on anyone who does not want Him!!!!!!
Do you understand?
You have to ask for the Lord our God to come and take your life into His hands. Then surrender to Him and trust that He will do you no harm, break none of His promises, and will lead you to the house His Son has prepared for you.
Gods love to you and take care.

The answer is that the invitation is out there for all to take advantage of. It's your choice, not His. He has already made His choice. I'm not sure how you ever got the idea that salvation and work are incompatible - the Bible says nothing of the sort. Did anyone work to be born? Your very existence, a gift from God, is something that you did nothing to make happen.

First, you have to figure out do you really want to change. Do you really want Gods help. Then you go to him and confess this and truly repent (turn from your ways).

Note: Don't expect everything to go smoothly and be saved and sanctified (holy) all in one day. No. This work in you will last till all your life because we are human and human nature inclines towards the wrong but asking God and taking God seriously in your life is the mean to help you fight. Remember salvation is personal.

It's not only selfish but also arrogant to think that way. Perhaps you need to change some of your ways, be a bit humbler, and begin to seek God...

Peace be with you.

Your answer is your own words - "I'm not doing wrong" God will not save anyone who can't see their own sin.

Being saved is just a myth. You don't need to be saved from anything. Just live your life the best you can and try and be compassionate and understanding.
