i had this odd dream that i was entering this old room, with these old ladies that were taking me in. it was some type of room pertaining to a church. they were busy and telling everyone else outside to not bother us. they took me to the center of the room and made me kneel on this pillow serving as an alter.

you have to understand i have had this issue recently in the last months were i feel like im loosing faith in God, but i mean big time, you can read my previous question if you want to to give you an idea

so i stood there on my knees and the ladies were like 'teaching me' how to pray but they were busy runinng around the room at the same time. they put my chin up and kept running around. as they were busy i looked around and the room was packed with ugly paintings and the direction where i was kneeling to, there was no crucifiction of christ, no symbol of God nothing..

what does

it was also a high room, the door came from the center of one of the walls, which had stairs bringing you into the room. as the ladies ran around busy doing this and that while they were showing me how to pray, i woke up and right before i did, i notice there was no God in front of me, no symbol of God, no crucifiction....

what does that mean?

I feel the pillow and kneeling prayer shows your mind is centered on god thus the pillow is in the middle of the room. The ladies represent outside influence which is not constant and therefore your mind wanders from your devotion. The fact that there is no cross or symbol may show that your path to god may not lay in the route of your tradition and therefore may be with another religous organization. I woud believe you are not so sure your path to god, your current path, is the correct choice. Perhaps something has happened to discourage your obedience to your church or current religion. You may be unhappy about a sermon or event. Look inside yourself and you will find your answer. Be honest with yourself.

I don't want to say I'm interpretting your dream - but the feeling I'm getting is that the church you go/went to was/is too busy to focus on you or help you in any way. In your dream it sounds like you went there for direction and they're telling you to pray to God about it. You see God as not being there, and the people who are supposed to help you aren't getting the point, they are too busy. I would say by your church being too busy for you, you're losing your faith. You're wondering about God. I don't know what religion you are/were, but you have every right to question what's going on. Are they not teaching you anything new? Do you feel any closer to God after church? Maybe this isn't the right place to be for you. Again, it's not like any of us are going to know everything. It's your life, this is just an observation based on the facts.
But I did read the other thing you wrote on how you might be thinking God isn't answering your prayers - sometimes by his innaction he is. He might be letting you deal with the problem to make you a stronger person. Who knows. But there is a scirpture that says if you turn away from God, he will turn away from you. So be careful.

About your other question: that happened to me when I was 13, but was mostly due to a change in my logical thinking, not unanswered prayers, etc.

Re: the dream: It looks like you are still conflicted about your fading faith. Since you're surrounded by aged women and ugly paintings, maybe you see your religion and/or its beliefs as outdated and somehow corrupt or rotting (maybe the recent scandals?). The women may also represent authority figures in your real life or in church, or the doctrine itself.

You also seem to feel coerced, since the women are older than you and force you to kneel and put your chin up. It sounds very unpleasant and sounds like you fear punishment if you don't do what they say, which is often what religions actually teach.

Were you taught by nuns by any chance?

Dreams are mostly our unconscious attempts to process conflicts and other experiences in our waking lives, especially ones we don't want to deal with. If you feel guilty about losing faith, recognize it as a natural reaction to how you were raised and pressure from those around you.

Maybe you need to be alone and just think things through, like on a retreat, so you can come to your OWN decision, based on feelings and needs YOU identify, not the pressure of others.

Good luck in your quest!

(for what it's worth, I never did go back to the Church and don't regret it at all, but I wouldn't presume to tell you what to do about it. Everyone needs to decide for themselves).

The site below has some interesting stories by people who've dealt with your specific experience and the many ways they handled it.

You'll be okay, don't worry!

You saw a dream about what you wanted to see. Since u've started getting the idea that there is no proof for gods existence, u just got a dream similar to tht idea. We don't learn/ get any new information from dreams, but dreams are only the aftereffects of our thoughts.

It sounds to me that God is warning you not to seek your relationship with Him through a false religion. You should turn from your sins and ask God to forgive you and invite Him into your life, by accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior. He will give you the gift of the Holy Ghost, God Himself, and He will direct your path.
