My dog came out with just a small scrape on his muzzle. he is a jack Russell terrier and weighs 14 pounds. he also has fought a 45 pound pit bull mix and won. is that weird or what!?!? im not lying either the pit bull was bleeding everywhere!!! i swear!

JRt were bred to kill rodents. Anything with Terrier was pretty much originally to kill something.

If your dog got into a fight with a rabid coon, then you should take it to the vet... like right now!!!
Shots or no, it could still get sick because of the rabies virus and you should notify the vet. He might have only a scratch, but what about internal injuries? After all, the coon was twice his size.
You deserve bragging rights true, but have the little guy checked out and be sure he's okay.

I have a female Jack Russell that is some 11 yrs old now
she is outguned by the three pugs in the household
but they all love one another a lot and are a rock solid little pack---
Baby has been a genuine joy to have in the family
She is an avid hunter of small game---but she has a mothering instinct that has seen three other much older dogs to a peaceful close to long lives --- she---standing by them and actually guiding them around when they were too infirm to locate things for themselves--- and sleeping near them and washing their faces to show them love--- she has actually taught several of us in this clan about love and devotion on a level that each of us can say is an amazing journey ---as she ages herself-- we all are going out of our way now to see that SHE has everything she needs or wants---she has earned it !!!!!

For small dogs they are very protective of their people. They were bread to hunt foxes and other game. It's totally believable. I saw a beagle attack a pit bull once. Of course, the pit bull won and casued 1200$ worth of damage. That was a rough day.

i reccomend taking your dog to a vet right away if your dog bit the raccon he could easily 1)crave blood and attack some one else so he can get a taste(dogs r like that i had to put a dog down jack russell too) and 2) take him to a vet for a rabies shot he may have contracted it from the raccoon

No, it's not weird. Jack Russells are scrappy little dogs who are more likely to be aggressive to other animals than not be.

Wow. You're proud that you allowed your dog to fight another dog to the point that it was "bleeding everywhere." What is wrong with you?

what is your question? I've had a jack russell before and yes, they can be mean when they need to be.
