I crash around 2-3 PM and crave a nap- which wouldn't be a good idea, becuase I am at work. I am stuck at a desk most of the day.

Any ideas would be helpful.

Thanks

Drink lots of water. Staying hydrated keeps you awake.

Hi Nick:

A little know fact: Your brain requires brief recharge every 90-120 minutes. It's called our Ultradian Rhythm. BRAC (Brain Rest Activity Cycle) Ultradian stress is sourced from our mistaking cues form our brain and drinking to much coffee, eating sugar--to recharge.

When you feel afternoon slump--you can just close your eyes and breath in count of 4-5 --out count of 4-5. do for at least 2-3 minutes. Then just sit with eyes closed passively and let your equipment recharge.

Give it a try. Good luck.

This problem isn't just applicable to teens. Lack of sleep affects all of us the same way, from children to teens right up to the elderly, and it's finally being recognized by people in power. Doctors and health organizations are encouraging people to get enough sleep, even if it involves taking a nap. Work places are beginning to encourage employees to indulge in afternoon power naps (short naps of 30 to 60 minutes duration, or even less) and are even designating rooms for this purpose.

If you have an office, close the door and take a 15 minute power nap. They work awesome.

If not, surf the net, talk to coworkers, pretend to work, but really close your eyes.

Work just sucks....we should all get a siesta in the afternoon....

Get up and stretch, go out for a bit of fresh air if possible. Also, think about what you are consuming during the morning and lunch. Too much caffiene will make you crash, also too heavy of a mal at lunch will make you crash. Try going for a quick walk at lunch time.

Take a breather out of your day. Sit and relax. A nap is normal to want. especially since you have ben working all day. I know you prob wonder why your tired, but your sitting all day, well the reason is, is that your not physically tired, your mentally tired. your brain has been trying to work out problems for hours! and now your exhausted! just take a breather after you get home...going to a spa can help too. it works wonders ♥ =)
