I always went for 7-up, but sprite and Gingerale also work. It is along the same lines as taking alkaselzer. The bubbles... ... and little sugar. To some extent this also works with beer. One bottle of a good dark. Not recommended for women pregnant or nursing.

Ginger acts to ease the stomach. Also the carbonation also acts against the gas sometimes associated with an upset stomach.

Yes and I used to have it all the time as a kid to calm down upset or queasy stomachs because the ginger is a tonic type herb which is noted as being good for that.

Yes...my mom always gave me FLAT ginger ale though.
And now I drink ginger ale to help with morning sickness while pregnant. I don't know why, but ginger helps with nausea.

Ginger ale does help soothe the stomach, due to the ginger root that is in it. But boiled ginger root is even better.

Yes, the ginger helps settle the stomach. It's works best if it is flat...no carbonation.

no, it's just an old wives tale,
the soda bicarbonate (what makes all soda pop fizzy) can aid in digestion, os it can help but only as much as drinking a bit of sprite or 7up would as well...

okay for all you home doctors and scientists out there, how many ginger ale labels have you read lately??
there is not enough (if any) ginger root in ginger ale to have any medicinal value...

If it has real ginger in it (not artifically flavored), ginger stimulates blood vessels in your stomach.
