Is the soul that spark when sperm hits egg that makes the cells divide?
Or is it the sum of all thoughts, beliefs, fears and etc we develop over time?

The soul is something medical science still hasn't been able to pinpoint, and may only be a product of our "thoughts, beliefs, fears, etc." On the other hand, I have seen some photographic infrared evidence, and have heard some reports on, doctors sensing some sort of essence leaving the body at the moment of death. More than 40,000 people come into this world every day, and more than 40,000 people leave this world every day, so the daily traffic of souls must be quite something if it were observable. I can assign no more characteristics of whatever essence leaves us at the moment of death, if any, than I could to the evaporation of water. I leave that to those that think they know something the rest of the world apparently does not.

In my opinion, each person's soul is like the core of an apple. It is the part of each person that helps them grow, learn, live. I believe that the soul is eternity. The soul lives forever. Each is many people or and things. I believe you choose your life each time you return as a living entity. You also choose if you wish to go the same path as well. I believe you can change the path and the path you choose you are created and live it to the fullest no matter what. Yes, I do believe in life after death, where is the question. Just thoughts. LL.

The Soul is a living person. For at Genesis 2:7: “Jehovah God proceeded to form the man out of dust from the ground and to blow into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man came to be a living soul.” (Notice that this does not say that man was given a soul but that he became a soul, a living person.) (The part of the Hebrew word here rendered “soul” is ne´phesh. KJ, AS, and Dy agree with that rendering. RS, JB, NAB read “being.” NE says “creature.” Kx reads “person.”)

Hence, Jehovah God view the life of a child as precious even during the very early stages of development after conception. This is express in the Bible at Pslam 139:13-16: “You [Jehovah] kept me screened off in the belly of my mother. . . . Your eyes saw even the embryo of me, and in your book all its parts were down in writing.”

Please consider two secular sources that proves this:

“The belief that the soul continues its existence after the dissolution of the body is a matter of philosophical or theological speculation rather than of simple faith, and is accordingly nowhere expressly taught in Holy Scripture.”—The Jewish Encyclopedia (1910), Vol. VI, p. 564.

“There is no dichotomy [division] of body and soul in the O[ld] T[estament]. The Israelite saw things concretely, in their totality, and thus he considered men as persons and not as composites. The term nepeš [ne´phesh], though translated by our word soul, never means soul as distinct from the body or the individual person. . . . The term [psy·khe´] is the N[ew] T[estament] word corresponding with nepeš. It can mean the principle of life, life itself, or the living being.”—New Catholic Encyclopedia (1967), Vol. XIII, pp. 449, 450.

The Baha'i Writings teach that the soul is created a conception. We are also taught that the "soul is a sign of God" and therefore very special. The soul certainly grows and changes baseed on experience over time.

Our soul is who we are. We are made up of body, spirit, and soul. Our body is the vehicle for our soul and spirit. Our spirit gives us life and knowledge and effects our decisions and desires. I will give you an example. Being Gay is not who a person is. Desiring to be gay is not a personal choice. It is a desire caused by a person's spirit. If one changes that spirit and becomes "Born Again", God's Holy Spirit dwelling in them, God will take that desire away. It's that easy. I was an alcoholic and addicted to drugs and cigarettes. I enjoyed them and I accepted that was who I was. When God came into me, He took those desires away as if I never did them! When I look back, I was in a bondage and that I was a slave to those sins. I am glad that the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead, now lives in me and He has changed me from the inside out!.
