What is the difference between someone who is dating, someone who is in a relationship (comitment) and someone who going steady (talking to someone)? Are they all the same?

No you can date multiple people, if you are committed you date that person excluslively.

some one who is dating someone might be dating other people....someone who is in a relationship is not dating anyone else or with anyone else.....to me someone who is going steady means that they are planning on getting married in the future just have not gotten engaged yet.....then to me the person who is just talking to someone seriously and maybe going out once in a while is the same as someone who is dating. Dating is just that. Your not in a relationship, your not having sex, you are 'just' going out to dinner, a movie, a walk on the beach or around the park, perhaps cooking dinner at yours or hers house and talking, getting to know one another......... and usually when you are 'just' dating, you are not subject to date only that one person........... you are playing the field, dating other people and getting to know them as well.
Being in a relationship (commitment) is you are only dating, relationship/commitment only one person..... the next step after 'just' dating that person, when you come to terms with you want more so you commit yourself to just being with that person as your now girlfriend/boyfriend.
Going steady is the same thing as being in a relationship (commitment) with one person......... its just another term or word for it.

Dating means u can go out with numerous ppl at a time... a relationship.. or courting requires more of a commitment and u only are with that one person...
