The simple answer is yes but only if you consider the following.

Firstly why are you looking to add external speakers to your TV?

If it is because the sound lacks bass? then a set of external speakers may help. Normally they are driven by the internal amplifier that is built into your television and there is a switch at the rear or a option in the menu to enable them. In my experience the amplifiers in TVs are not the most powerful in the world and as mentioned already make sure that the impedance is the same for the speakers and TV ( usually 8 ohms. )

External speakers will make the TV louder and of course you can position them as near to your ears as you wish if you are hard of hearing.

A better option would be to run your TV through your HIFI
( normally just one lead ) This would give you a better sound than external TV speakers and in addition save you some money.

The sound that you get is largely dependant on the quality of your reception and the TV itself.

Also if you do go down the external speaker route please remember that to purchase units that are magnetically shielded if they are going to be next to the TV.

One last thing..... Connecting external speakers/wiring up to your HIFI is going to give you the same sound ( stereo ) just a little better quality and louder.

to ask which LDC television has the final sound is like asking which animal produces the final tasting turd. the difficulty is that the extra compact TVs get, the less room they have for audio gadget. The outdated console TVs used to have as much as 6x9 audio gadget in them. some vast reveal projection TVs had large woofers and tweeters. however the extremely compact, extremely narrow liquid crystal reveal TVs of right this moment have not got any room for any audio gadget of any value. all of them suck. So while you're in a marketplace for a sparkling television, my ultimate suggestion is to place aside a minimum of a small factor of your funds for a valid bar. it incredibly is minimum. or you would be sorely upset on your viewing adventure.

defintely

speakers on lcds are so small and output is small unless you have a bandg and olufsen tv, you must buy a good sound system.

best bet is a sony 5.1 surround sound for that full cinema experince.

It depends on the quality of the speakers. But adding more speakers will give you that "theatre" feel.

Lol, some queer gave me a thumbs down...
